Oscar The Onion Update.
This morning Creaturemag posted this image from Oscar The Onion which I’m working on with mr Matt Witt. It’s a crop from a double pager that will appear at the start of the book. Very much still a work in progress, but we would like to know what you think. The book should be ready by summer. x
Artist: David Litchfield
Project: Oscar the Onion – A short story by Matt Witt, illustrated by David Litchfield.

We are proud to present the latest update on the splendid collaboration between Matt Witt and David Litchfield, an illustrated book about a special little Onion named Oscar.
Matt says: I am so excited to see the first colour illustrations for the book. David has been working so hard and the results are magnificent. The image above is still a work in progress, it is a detail from a double page illustration. We will be reveling more over the next couple of months.
We would love to know what you guys think of this image, please send comments / feedback to creature@creatuermag.com

David says: As some of you know I have been designing characters for the theatre production of ‘The Wild Thing’s’ based on Maurice Sendak’s seminal book ‘Where The Wild Thing’s Are’. And here is the latest design.
The script, set design and costumes are all taking shape for the stage production. It’s been such an eye opener to be involved in such a huge, giant project where so much needs to be considered and planned and so many different people are involved.

I think that this is my personal favourite Freak of The Week.
From May this year x
Here is my latest Wild Thing design, soon to be appearing in the stage production based on Maurice Sendak’s ‘Where The Wild Thing’s Are’ book. This past week I was privileged to be able to sit in on a Wild Thing script read through. It was great fun and made me even more excited to be involved in this ambitious show. Not long now until I see my creature designs come to life on stage.
