This fella will soon appear as part of a design I just finished for Falmouth University’s Film department. But I quite like how he looks on his own too. x

Coming sooooooooooooon……:)
Here is a very small excerpt from the book written by the incredibly gifted chap Chester Travis and illustrated by me x…..
My name is Brendan, I blend in,
To every wall, to everything.
My skin will change its shapes and hue,
To fit the stuff I’m stood next to.
And the things I’m stood behind,
Or in front of! Or combined!
At home, at school or Grandma’s house,
I’m part of chairs or Grandma’s blouse.
I’m part of tables, part of ceilings
Part of paint on doors unpeeling!
To you I’m sure it sounds like bliss,
To have a talent such as this,
But let me ask you while you’re here,
Why you’d want to disappear?
It’s not what it’s cracked up to be,
I tell you, since my infancy,
That all it brings is harsh despair,
When no one sees you standing there.

Adios Neilos…..
So, last night we said bon voyage to Dr Neil Fox (@drgonzolives) who is travelling to New York before embarking on a brand new life by the sea in Falmouth where he will teach, write and swim like a shark.
Neil is a fantastic writer who has written films, plays, reviews and short stories (check out his work via his blog) and late last year we completed our first collaboration together after he wrote and I illustrated a review for the 1968 Burt Lancaster film ‘The Swimmer’ for the fantastic ‘Bright Wall Dark Room’ magazine (@BWDR)
Despite him living bloody miles away now, myself and Neil will continue to collaborate on a number of projects one of which is our on-going, on-festering epic opus to be ‘HOSPICE’ graphic novel, that is going to be mind-blowing! -Seriously-mindblowingly -good !
Above all Neil is a really good friend and I’ll miss him a lot. He is one of the few people who I can talk utter shit to about art, film, music, life- and him not runaway thinking I’m a complete weirdo.
You really need friends like that.
Anyway, I drew this picture of him as a farewell gift.
Have fun ya’ll. XXX
