Work In Progress… #sketchbook
Hello Tumblr. Here is another scruffy page straight out of my sketchbook.
It’s from a personal project that I’m doing in my spare time called ‘Silent Stories’ that will be a bunch of weird little stories collected together into  a graphic novel and hopefully published one day soon….
Basically, when I get the time i’ll mess about with it on Photoshop, add colours and chage things around and hopefully get it looking cool.

Heres a sneak peek into my sketchbook at something that will soon become something… :)

From the archives: “What Was Found”

A sketch of the fearsome Cyclops. A tribute to the great Mr Ray Harryhausen RIP :(
I used to watch Sinbad, Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans and as soon as they had finished try and draw the incredible monsters from memory. A lot of the drawings looked just like this one.
A true and proper inspiration. x

Sometimes, It’s good to remind yourself that drawing is fun and that there doesn’t need to be a reason or meaning.
just drew this. Thought I would share.
G’night all. X

Adios Neilos…..
So, last night we said bon voyage to Dr Neil Fox (@drgonzolives) who is travelling to New York before embarking on a brand new life by the sea in Falmouth where he will teach, write and swim like a shark.
Neil is a fantastic writer who has written films, plays, reviews and short stories (check out his work via his blog) and late last year we completed our first collaboration together after he wrote and I illustrated a review for the 1968 Burt Lancaster film ‘The Swimmer’ for the fantastic ‘Bright Wall Dark Room’ magazine (@BWDR)
Despite him living bloody miles away now, myself and Neil will continue to collaborate on a number of projects one of which is our on-going, on-festering epic opus to be ‘HOSPICE’ graphic novel, that is going to be mind-blowing! -Seriously-mindblowingly -good !
Above all Neil is a really good friend and I’ll miss him a lot. He is one of the few people who I can talk utter shit to about art, film, music, life- and him not runaway thinking I’m a complete weirdo.
You really need friends like that.
Anyway, I drew this picture of him as a farewell gift.
Have fun ya’ll. XXX

Silent Stories Recently I have been working flat out on a number of different commissions, which I’m really enjoying and getting a chance to create some really cool work (I’ll hopefully get to show you some of it very soon).
But last night I decided to have a break from these commissions and draw a comic. Not for a client or for anything in particular but just a piece of work for me.
It felt great to just draw and not worry too much about pleasing a client (as much as I do love my current crop of clients :D ) and just let the work go off in a random direction.
So, yeah, last night I got two pages pencilled…..who knows when I will get it finished as I need to fit it in with other work. I have been thinking a lot about creating a bunch of wordless comics and collecting them all together into a book and getting a Kickstarter together to get it published. It could be called Silent Stories.
But thats for another day.
Anyway, just thought I’de share…..
How you doing? :)

Work in progress. More news soon. x

Today, at the request of the lovely @BCADirector and @kristianpurcell I sketched various people at Mrs Kezia Hall’s art event which took place at the (also lovely) @gfcoffeeshopuk .
The show was all about food and there was a giant cake which people ate freely. It was great….anyway, here is one of the visitors I sketched. x
