‘Where The Wild Things Are’ Teaser Poster

I’m very happy to announce that The Place Theatre will be staging a production of Maurice Sendak’s ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ at Christmas time. I’m even more happy to announce that I will be designing and illustrating all of the marketing material!!!……x

‘Where The Wild Things Are’ has been one of my favourite books since I was 0 years old and the prospect of drawing those beloved characters and having them be seen by the public was daunting and terrifying, but incredibly exciting.

I was asked by Alex and Cally from the production company, if I would be interested in taking on the task just two weeks before the sad news of Mr Sendak’s death was announced.  The book and Sendak’s illustrations have been a huge influence on so many of my own drawings and I jumped at the chance to put my own spin on such an iconic cast of characters. 

Anyway, I’m amazingly excited! Here is the first ‘teaser’ Poster for the show. More to come…..Whoop Whoop!! x
